Remote CranioSacral Therapy
Remote CranioSacral Therapy is just as effective as in-person CranioSacral Therapy in releasing restricted tissues within the craniosacral system and enhancing cerebrospinal fluid production, which allows better access to the parasympathetic ("rest, digest, and restore") nervous system. We have learned through quantum physics that we can access the human biofield from a distance, and similarly, we have discovered we can also access the craniosacral system and other systems remotely. Also known as distance craniosacral therapy, virtual craniosacral therapy, and remote healing, there are variations on how practitioners work.
I have been working remotely with clients since March of 2020 with successful results. When I work remotely, my clients lie on their backs at home on their bed, sofa, or floor, and I bring their energy body to my table, imagining their body there in that position. I am then able to "blend" (also an in-person technique) with them to evaluate and treat them, feel their releases, and then re-assess for tissue changes, just as I do with in-person sessions. I am able to evaluate the most restrictive body part (which is at the root of symptoms) and the craniosacral rhythm, and more. The signs of release such as the therapeutic pulse and regional tissue release (also known as unwinding) are palpable to me. |
There is no oxytocin effect of hands-on CranioSacral Therapy with remote, which is an important component for some, but the changes in the tissues are just as potent and most of my clients report feeling similar to in-person CranioSacral Therapy after a remote treament. They admit after their initial remote session that they felt skeptical, yet open, prior. And they are delighted afterward! Some of my long term clients have deepened into their release process since changing to remote and have gained more authentic aspects of themselves.
I recommend remote CranioSacral Therapy with me if you do not have access to more skilled and experienced craniosacral therapists near where you live, if you want the safety factor of remote in regard to the pandemic (especially for those who are at higher risk if exposed to covid due to current health challenges), if you wish to avoid traveling (especially for those who live far away or do not drive), if you prefer being home so that you may extend your session by resting longer afterward, and/or if you are sensitive and prefer the boundary of being in the comfort of your home and preference for more indirect support.
When you work with me remotely, we first check in over the phone for the initial evaluation or follow-up subjective input of symptoms and health status (and history and past medical history on initial session). Then I perform my objective assessment remotely, based on my extensive training in evaluation techniques. Based on that information, which I share, we move onto the remote treatment. Occasionally we then hang up and work off the phone. More often, we stay on the phone and I can explain what I am working with as I treat, or we can be quiet and I share pertinent information at the end, or a combination. If SomatoEmotional Release is indicated, I can "dialogue" (a SER technique) with you for clarity toward emotional release, if needed.

Sometimes I have my clients work with their own bodies by placing hand(s) on an area I'm working with remotely, by doing hands-on techniques following my instruction, and/or by making small movements to facilitate release. These same tools can be used by my clients between sessions for self-care, to help treatment improvements hold longer. I also may use other modalities per evaluation, such as those described on my Manual Therapy page (also effective remotely), as well as chakra balancing.

I work remotely with babies, children, and teenagers, as well as adults. With babies, I report to Mom over the phone what I'm treating and when I feel releases, which Mom usually validates from baby's behavior. Depending upon a child's age, the same can be true or we can work off phone, sometimes during nap time. It is not critical for my client to lie down if a child prefers to play. Some teens prefer receiving treatment off phone and may fall asleep.
My teacher, Dr John (as he liked to be called), often mentioned, "there are open minded people and closed minded people" and commented he was not going to try to convince closed minded people that CranioSacral Therapy is effective, but help those who are open minded to it. In the same spirit, I wish to assist remotely with those open minded to try it. Just as I do with in-person appointments, I always re-assess after three sessions, so that the cumulative effect has taken place, and make sure treatments have started to help reduce symptoms, or have relieved them (most notice improvement with initial treatment).
I am passionate about remotely helping those with covid and long covid (also known as post covid and long haul covid) to fully recover, using my knowledge, skill and experience. Long covid symptoms that CranioSacral Therapy can assist in relieving include tiredness or exhaustion, post exertion fatigue, brain fog, sleep issues, anxiety, vertigo (dizziness), tinnitis (ringing in ear), breathlessness, headaches, and joint pain. CranioSacral Therapy affects the Autonomic Nervous System and Vagus Nerve toward resolving these issues. Treatments also include education in activity pacing, life style changes, and microbiome health as needed to quicken recovery.
"I have been seeing Germaine for two years and absolutely love my sessions with her. She is extremely gifted and professional in her practice.
I initially came to Germaine for anxiety and off balance symptoms which she began treating in-person. Between Covid and personal travel, I ended up switching to virtual sessions. I was amazed how my 'home' sessions were actually more helpful to me than in-person! It has truly been a gift to be able to continue my treatments and healing wherever I may be. I have even had treatments while on a road trip!
My virtual sessions have saved me travel time, decreased health exposures, allowed me to relax longer after a session if needed, and most of all - truly worked wonders for my health and healing. I continue to see Germaine virtually because it has been so effective for me, especially as a sensitive person." L.W.
